“Though I don’t have children, I want to one day. Knowing that Raising Films is out there to encourage real change in the industry gives me hope for my life, that I won’t have to sacrifice parenthood for a fulfilling career, or vice versa.”

— Female, 25-44, freelance producer, Scotland, Making It Possible survey, 2015

Raising Films is a campaign and a community: we want to take action together to make it possible for all of us to balance creative and caring practices. We’ve been lucky to work alongside excellent collaborators who are championing equality and inclusion in film & TV, advocating for parental rights in the workplace, and taking action across the creative industries. Here are some of the successful strategies, resources and routes to change that we’ve learned from them, and from our work so far. We know that we’re asking some of the busiest people around to add more to their plates, so there’s everything from reading up on your rights to being part of a protest. Whatever works for you, we want you in on the action!
