This autumn, we are pleased to bring more opportunities for industry professionals to access our unique and family-friendly ‘Making It Possible’ training events.
This programme is supported by Creative Skillset’s Film Skills Fund, with BFI’s Film Forever National Lottery funds, and Directors UK.
Raising Films will be holding a series of three one-day personal and career development days across the UK to help those who have taken a career break for caring responsibilities to focus on their goals, plan a route to achieve them and address the specific barriers and challenges they face. You might still be on maternity/paternity leave; be back at work but concerned you will stagnate in your career due to juggling work with domestic demands; or you may be fired up to advance your career but struggling to make it happen.
The sessions will blend vision and objectives with practical planning specific to the individual’s own situation and ambition, in the setting of a peer group that will continue to support each other beyond the event. Each participant will have a one-to-one session with a life coach and a series of industry experts, who can offer personalised and realistic guidance. Participants will also be provided with an industry mentor for an online session in the 6-8 weeks following the core training.
The day will run from approximately 10am – 5pm. Childcare will be provided at the training venue for those who need it and there will be suitable breaks in the schedule for those who need to feed babies. Please specify the support you require on the day in your application.
The dates are:
Monday 7 November – Bath, in partnership with Bath Film Festival.
Tuesday 15 November – Leeds, in partnership with Northern Film School.
Thursday 1 December – London, in partnership with Underwire Film Festival and Genesis Cinema.
